Loneliness

Feeling lonely….it happens..

You can feel lonely in a group or even when you are with someone. There can be intellectual loneliness, cultural loneliness, you belong to other race or nationality so you are lonely, you are not that much rich so you can be lonely, you are different gender so you can be lonely, you have your own principles so you can be lonely, in a social function you can be lonely , in social media you can be lonely and the list goes on… In all the above circumstances there is one thing which is common and that is…in every loneliness one thing is with you…that is ..you are with yourself…

Present circumstances also lead to loneliness as we have to stay home. Some of you are with family and some of you are alone with your own company. Isn’t it a good thing that you are with yourself!

  • Start exploring yourself.
  • Write down things you like.
  • Write down things you are good at…your STRENGTHS
  • Write your qualities which make you feel good about yourself as a human being. After noting down these things, you have some visuals in front of you; these are the ways I am going to reinvent myself. There are certain things we need to focus on ..especially when we are with our own company.
  • Focus on what you can do with your interests and hobbies. How can you channelise your hobbies and interests in a creative way so that it can help you as well as to others.
  • Keep your focus on your strengths and how you can utilise these strengths in building your self esteem. How can you use these strengths to keep you motivated positively in a path of life.
  • Keep your focus on the possible ways to maintain health. Write it down what you can do to keep yourself physically and mentally healthy.
  • If you are going through some problematic or stressful situations then try to focus on things which are in your control.
  • Think about what you can do about it. You will find that sometimes you worry too much about things; where you can’t do anything about it. In such circumstances you need to be focused on the things in your control. By focusing on things which are in our control, sometimes we can find solutions to the problems. Also, it helps us to reduce unnecessary worries and stress and we become more realistic.

Loneliness is nothing but spending time with yourself. You have to choose to spend Good quality time with yourself. Exploring your passions and things,staying in touch with people which make you feel good about yourself can really help.

Surround yourself with positivity:

Read books, articles,blogs or social media content which imparts positivity within you. Listen to positive talks or music,optimistic audio-books which will uplift your mood and positively channelise your way of thinking. Watch good stuff..visual memory has a long term impact on our thoughts, emotion and behavior; so watch good contents,eg.spiritual videos, motivational and inspirational interviews, autobiographies which can transform your way of thinking in a positive manner.

Surround yourself with optimistic and humorous people.

It is always better to be alone than being with bad company.

Appreciate yourself, pat your back that you have decided to do so many things with your own company. And most importantly you tried to implement these ideas just for yourself …
Investing quality time into yourself will definitely give you good returns!
